What Does A Ceramic Coating Do?
Basically, Ceramic Coating is an extra layer of protection on top of the paint. It is much harder than a clear coat and more hydrophobic, helping keep your vehicle looking new for longer and making it easier to keep clean. Below are the main benefits of Ceramic Coating.
PROTECTION FROM UV DAMAGE / OXIDIZATION
Due to the sun's harmful UV rays, vehicles begin to dull and fade from the paint oxidizing. Ceramic Coating protects against minor scratches, swirl marks and harmful UV rays.

Are there different types of Ceramic Coatings?
There are many different types of Ceramic Coatings, the biggest difference will be if the coating is a consumer grade or professional grade coating. Consumer grade coatings will be easier to use and install -- but will lack the high end protection aspects of a professional grade coating installed by a trained and certified detailer.
